“Per Aspera ad Astra" springs from the attempt to channel the creativity of four different musicians into a unique stream of work. The pieces have been put together over a long time, and that is the characteristic of a work that cannot be considered as a rational exercise; indeed, it can be defined as the expression of languages and communication codes that had to be interpreted, assimilated and interiorized by the authors. The outcome is the fusion of free energies, which does not only mean a simple sum of distinct parts, but also the creation of an organic ensemble with its own aliveness, where the parts can rediscover themselves. It sounds lusty and researched, a ceaselessly changing drift describing long digressions as a rhythmic and harmonic whirlwind without alpha and omega. Something that tries to translate a fractal concept into musical shapes, perpetually repeating and transforming itself, an experiential-visionary musical idea. Sonority and style recall different genres, combining math rock, post rock, psychedelia, progressive, noise, electronic music and South American and vaguely funky rhythms. The composing technique does not preclude the integration of any kind of music, discovering its own personality only in the mix. Along these lines, the recurring theme of titles and artworks is the Cosmos, meant as a horizon through which gaze brakes free from ties and bonds and as a place where fighting forces converge to create "The Everything", object of contemplation. All this is filtered by irony that imposes the minimization of the conflict for its reintegration as an universal vital function, something that, if seen on “others” levels, is about pure harmony.
